Antique Belgian or Bohemian Doorknob. With Miniature Concentric Millefiori Paperweight Handle. Antique Belgian or Bohemian Doorknob with Miniature Concentric Millefiori Paperweight Handle. This is a wonderful antique doorknob with a concentric millefiori paperweight handle. The handle has bright colors on a clear ground. It has two concentric circles of canes around a complex center cane. The outer ring alternates between larger complex blue and white canes and simpler red and white canes. One red cane is missing. The inner ring consists of six large identical white, pink, and yellow complex canes. There is a complex green, pink, and yellow center cane. The maker of this paperweight is unknown. It has similarities to a group of paperweights believed to have originated at an unidentified glass factory in Belgium, Northern Europe, or even Bohemia. The hardware portion is in good condition with a fixed spindle. The design is well centered and a wonder to study. Please Note: The stand shown in the pictures is not included with the paperweight. It is shown for illustration only. Note on white glare. Please ignore the white areas, they are glare from the light. This paperweight has a strong similarity to a group of paperweights and doorknobs that are believed to have originated at an unidentified glass factory in Belgium or Northern Europe. Bohemian Glass generally refers to the glass made in the regions that form the border area between the Czech Republic, Poland, and Germany. Most of these areas are now parts of the western Czech Republic. Size: The knob is 1 13/16″ diameter by 2 3/16″ long including the brass hardware, but not the spindle. With the spindle, it is 4 13/16 long. Condition: Very good condition for its age. The paperweight knob has a few scratches, but no cracks or chips. Signature: Unsigned, but I guarantee this is an antique paperweight doorknob from Bohemia or Belgium or Northern Europe. Allan’s Paperweights is owned by Allan Port. MARIAN PYRCAK Bohemian Swirl Art Glass Paperweight (Signed) VINTAGE. This vintage Bohemian Marian Pyrcak teardrop paperweight is a stand-out. While there are other Marian Pyrcak pieces that are similar, the vivid color and swirl pattern on this one is particularly stunning. Pyrcak is a leader in modern Polish art glass who has crafted unique, beautiful pieces like this for more than 30 years near Warsaw. Pyrcak is known for modern abstract as well as traditional handblown sculptures and is recognized worldwide as highly collectible and sought-after art glass continually rising in value along with his popularity. This is an antique doorknob with a concentric millefiori paperweight handle. The handle has bright translucent colors on a clear ground. It has two concentric circles of complex canes around a complex center cane. The theme colors are orange, lilac, turquoise, and green and the canes are various combinations of six pointed star canes. The outer circle of canes alternate between orange and lilac complex canes. The inner circle of canes alternate between green and turquoise complex canes. There is a larger orange complex cane in the center. The maker of this paperweight is unknown. It has similarities to a group of paperweights believed to have originated at an unidentified glass factory in Belgium, Northern Europe, or even Bohemia. The hardware portion is in good condition with holes for a cross pin to anchor the spindle. There is no spindle. The design is well centered and a wonder to study. Note on condition : This paperweight knob has a fracture in the stem (and possibly a repair), but seems solid and unlikely to crack further. Antique, dated ca 1860. Concentric pattern of millefiori on rare white-yellow latticinio double cushion from unidentified Silesian or Bohemian glassworks. This type of antique paperweights is considered most likely as originated from Silesian or other Prussian glassworks. Diameter ca 55mm (ca 2 3/16″), height ca 37mm (ca 1 7/16″). Very good, original condition as depicted on photos. Very m inor signs of wear and tiny lower-side chips as seen on base picture – on 9th and 11th hour – adequate to the age of this paperweight. No internal imperfections, very nice millefiori canes assortment. Additional pictures may be provided on request.
