This paper weight globe sphere is Fantastic. It is marked impressed on the pontil THE MAGIC OF GLASS JIM DAVIS 1978. Jim Davis is a well known glass artist. There are several examples of his work in the Museum of American Glass in West Virginia. He is well known for his art marbles. Also in the museums collection is a marble by Jim and a marble by each of his six sons. His six sons are all well known Glass artists. This paperweight has a very beachy feel to it. The center core is that aqua color very similar to waters in the Caribbean. I’ve worked with glass and this was rolled and gathered 3 times. So all together 4 times. The bits and pieces in the glass look like bits of shells and sand on the beach. Pink beige golden colors. It is alive with movement!!! It stands 4.5 inches. The circumference is 15 inches. It came with some other glass in a box lot from an estate sale. It is in excellent used condition no issues. What a spectacular gift this would make!!!
