Chris Buzzini Sinuous Chicory Paperweight

This weight depicts the sinuous chicory plant in bloom. It consists of a fully open bloom, a partially open bloom, two opening buds and two fully closed buds all arranged on an olive stem with two spear shaped leaves in olive and dark green. The squared off petals of the blooms are in pale blue, accented with black filament stamens. This weight is a part of Buzzini’s American Beauty Florals series, which consisted of ten weights, each limited to an edition of 25. The base has been ground concave and polished. There is a scratch signature reading “Buzzini’98 C 3/25″ on the side of the weight. It is 3.4″ in diameter and 2.2″ tall, and is in perfect condition. In addition to photos of the weight that I took, I have also included a professional photo of this exact weight, attribution unknown. Chris Buzzini began working in glass in 1970. He was an important contributor to many art glass studios around the country, including Bridgeton Studios, Correia Art Glass, Lundberg Studios, and Orient & Flume Art Glass.
