The US Capitol, a National Historic Landmark–the seat of the US Congress, was completed in 1800. The “wedding cake” dome was added in the mid 1850′s to replace a smaller dome that was no longer in proportion as the building had been enlarged. This current dome is 100′ in diameter and almost 9 million pounds of cast iron. Hilton also designed most of Steuben’s rare copper wheel hand engraved jewelry designs in the late 1970′s. This vintage Steuben design is a rare find in new in box condition with no chips, no cracks, no nicks, no scratches or display wear.
