Paul Schulze & Alice Koeth design 1992. Star of David crystal sculpture. Is perfect for the a special birthday, the Bar or Bat Mitzvah or for your favorite collector. This made in USA, of original 10M formula Steuben Glass design is formed from a block of the purest crystal and engraved with the six sided star, a symbol of David’s shield against Goliath–a beautiful desk ornament! This design is a rare find, new in box with no chips, no cracks, no scuffs, no “flea” bites, no scratches. 3 inches wide by 3 inches tall. This is a heavy authentic prismatic design that is faceted with numerous cuts and polished surfaces and is signed correctly on the bottom edge. It will come wrapped in its fine original Steuben flannel bag and fine original Steuben box with a Steuben care folder. Steuben was noted for their rigorous attention to detail and for the high quality of their glass. They stated in their literature that they did not market “seconds”. In fact, they noted that such pieces were destroyed in house. Steuben Glass was founded by Frederick Carder in 1903 and was located in the Fingerlakes Region of New York State. By following strict standards for design and manufacture they achieved recognition as the world’s premier glassworks. Steuben Glass was frequently the gift of state by US Presidents to foreign dignitaries. Steuben, a recognized luxury brand. Because of these factors, a well maintained/handmade Steuben collectible will increase in value over time. This is the original early made in USA design. It is not a re introduction or reproduction made offshore FOR Steuben of inferior glass. Since the glassworks was torn down in 2011 it is nearly impossible to find authentic gift worthy engraved pieces like this that are free of scratches or damage.
