This extremely RARE and STUNNING paperweight from the renowned Saint LouisSt. Louis, made in France in 1952, is a brilliant piece of art glass that will add a touch of vintage charm to any collection. The unique concentric shape, millefiori mushroom pattern in multicolored tight canes with 5 side facets, plus one top facet, makes it a beautifully crafted- and the double overlay and starred base add depth and texture to the piece. 1952 was known not to have signature canes. ??? A gorgeous, faceted Saint Louis paperweight with a lamp work red rose, rosebud, leaves and thorns on a milky mauve background. A signature cane “SL 1978″ is featured on the underside. This hefty weight measures approximately 3.25 inches wide by 2 inches tall. There is a small chip on a facet junction on side of piece (price takes that into account) but it doesn’t detract from the beauty and overall, in very good condition. Please refer to photos. Limited edition of just 350. Please note, to the best of my ability, I inspect the paperweights I sell and relay what I see here. Antique Saint Louis – unsigned millefiori nosegay with garland on upset muslin paperweight. The nosegay, with four millefiori flowers in white, blue, coral and apricot, grows from two bright green stems and is surrounded by five green leaves, then encircled by a millefiori garland composed of alternating coral and blue complex canes. The design rests on a bed of delicate white upset muslin. AS IS no chips, but with lots of wear and tear scratches. Please see all the images.
