ANTIQUE FRENCH CLICHY ROSE GARLAND PAPERWEIGHT 1845-55. Height 4,5cm, Daimeter 6.5cm. French, Clichy with signature rose cane. Dates between 1845 and 1855. Please see item description. From a diverse and interesting private paperweight collection we are offering this rare French Clichy rose garland paperweight dating from between 1845 and 1855. Encased within clear glass the paper weight has a central Clichy rose cane with and arrangement of millefiori canes arranged to form a rose like design around the centre with a further band of millefiori canes around the outer edge. The domed paperweight has a polished concave base and is not marked. Condition The paperweight is offered in good presentable condition with a surface bruise to one side and with a few smaller more minor bruises lower down. There are a few other small and minor surface marks although these do not detract with some wear commensurate with age to the base. With usual wear to the foot rim this is a rare and fine paperweight to add to any serious collection. We cannot and will not declare items below the sale value. This item has been fully inspected in house.
