This is a rare vintage mid-century original hand made blown glass by Fratelli & Toso, one of the major glass makers of Murano, Italy and dates back to circa 1950. It consists of a Zanfirico round ball on a pedestal base, with millefiori design at top of latticino threads. The latticino threads are well done, with gold accents and threads, all descending from the millefiori design at the top. The base is indented in center and has a wide lip supporting the ball. Similar forms are sometimes referred to as wig stands, and this is large enough to be considered a stand. Excellent condition, no chips or damage.
