STUNNING and RARE ANTIQUE SANDWICH Double Layered COBALT BLUE POINSETTIA with a Beautiful White Complex Center Cane. I only see two blemishes, one is much smaller than the other. Both blemishes are on the one side and do not obstruct the straight on viewing of the Beautiful Poinsettia. See the 2 Yellow arrows in the last picture #8 for those blemishes. The Motif is a Double Layered Poinsettia with 10 Cobalt Blue Petals and 2 Forest Green Serrated Edge Leaves and all on a Clear Base. (Circa 1880 – 1910) I consider this amazing work of art to be in Good Original Antique Condition. It has a medium length stem and It was designed with over a dozen lovely controlled bubbles. The clear slightly concave bottom shows heavy shelf ware to the basal rim. Measures 2 5/8″ Diameter by 2″ Tall. This is an Alluring Paperweight and will add Value to Your Collection. Gaskill was a former President of the National Paperweight Collectors Association (PCA) and an avid and very astute Art Glass Paperweight Collector. After His passing, his collection was on loan (for approximately 3 years from 2006 to 2009) to the Museum of American Glass (Wheaton Village) in Millville, NJ, which is now known as Wheaton Village Arts and Cultural Center. Gaskills highly regarded and very extensive Art Glass Paperweight Collection was on display in their most prominent area of the Museum at that time. Just prior to being put on display at the Museum, Lawrence Selman of the Renown L. Selman was commissioned to do an appraisal of the entire collection. Selman is known worldwide for his expertise in the field of Art Glass Paperweights and in 2001, Selman was awarded the honor of being named by the Paperweight Collectors Association, one of the Top Ten People of the 20. Century to influence the paperweight art form. Gaskills collection was considered to be one of the largest gatherings of Antique American Art Glass Paperweights known to be in private hands. In 2009 a family member took possession of the entire collection and it went safely and quietly into storage for approximately 6 years, from 2009 to 2015. In 2016 I was very proud and honored to have had the opportunity to acquire a large portion of Mr. Gaskills Wonderful and Cherished Art Glass Paperweight Collection.
