This stunning early Perthshire paperweight, from that renowned but long-since-closed shop in Crieff Scotland, boasts 90 millefiori canes in pastel hues, divided into a dozen panels, by as many twisted spokes — all set over a gorgeous, deep, cobalt blue ground. It has no label or “P” cane, and is likely around 40 years old, made in the late 1970s. It is approximately 3″ or 76mm across, and 1.8″ or 46 mm high. As a vintage piece of such age, it naturally shows a bit of wear on the base, but is still almost entirely free of any scratches, wear or damage to the crystal dome. When carefully scanning with a lens — tilting it so that the light glances off it at just the right angle — you might be able to spot a barely visible scratch, a few mm long, and hardly a fine hair’s breath, near the top of the dome. Even with those few imperfections, as negligible as they are, this lovely vintage piece would make a coveted addition to any respectable collection.
