Consider this majestic icon, the signed. A marvelous design by the late James Houston, famous for many of Steuben’s favorite wildlife and outdoor sculptures Excalibur, Ice Bear, Arctic Fisherman, Ice Hunter and others. This rare original largest Steuben Eagle design is in new scratch free condition with no chips, no cracks, no damage to the wings, no display scratches on the bottom. Perfect for Father’s Day. A special birthday, executive’s desk or the collector. This will come wrapped in it’s fine vintage Steuben flannel bag, original box in sound condition with care booklet. To US lower 48. 7 high and approx. On the edge of the base bottom. Again, this is an original hand made in USA Steuben formula glass Eagle, it is not a re-introduction, reproduction or off shore “made for” Steuben item. Steuben was noted for their rigorous attention to detail and for the high quality of their glass. They stated in their literature that they did not market “seconds”. In fact, they noted that such pieces were destroyed in house. Steuben Glass was founded by Frederick Carder in 1903 and was located in the Fingerlakes Region of New York State. By following strict standards for design and manufacture they achieved recognition as the world’s premier glassworks. Steuben Glass was frequently the gift of state by US Presidents to foreign dignitaries. Steuben was a luxury brand. Because of these factors, a well maintained original handmade Steuben collectible is likely to increase in value over time. A very fair price for one of Steuben’s most treasured designs in flawless condition. Since Steuben’s Glassworks was torn down in 2012 it has become increasingly difficult to locate scratch free new in box gift worthy examples of this original Steuben 10M formula art glass.
