ANTIQUE GILLINDER ARTICULATED TURTLE. ART GLASS PAPERWEIGHT c. The paperweight is a glass dome with a hollow core which holds a miniature turtle. The turtle is articulated, the head, legs and tail jiggle/tremble. Gillinder & Sons was founded in 1861. Measurements: 3″ diameter and 1 11/16″ tall. Antique Saint Louis close concentric millefiori mushroom paperweight. A white floret, ringed in cobalt blue, is at the core of a complex center cane of pale green and white tube cogs and a ring of more white florets in blue. The complex cane is encircled by a ring of similar canes, this time with salmon-cored white tubes on the periphery, followed by a ring of white ogee-tipped sawmill canes, with small red star cores and, finally, a ring of white florets, ringed in salmon, encircled by salmon-cored white tubes with an outer layer of translucent green. Alternating white sawmill canes and salmon-colored complex tube canes are pulled downward into a stem for the concentric mushroom tuft. Blue and white twist torsade over a clear, star-cut ground.
