Art glass Venetian complex scramble domed paperweight attributed to Pietro Bigaglia. Bigaglia is credited with making the first paperweights with twist & latticino, making this a significant example. There is no apparent signature… This paperweight was acquired from the Eli Lilly estate on Cape Cod.. It measures 7″ in circumference, about 2″ wide measurement is taken from the bottom of the paperweight and about 1.5 tall…. Under examination with a magnifying glass I see some small scratches… I see no nicks, chipping or pitting.. Please view photos before making an offer.

Details + Condition: Very scarce Murano glass crown design paperweight bearing a “Bigaglia” paper label on the bottom, referring the famous glass designer Pietro Bigaglia. Bigaglia was a mid-19th century Venetian glass designer who invented filigree glass designs in paperweights. The label on the bottom reads, “Vetri Di Murano, Bigaglia, Murano Italy”. Murano glass with this label are extremely scarce. Measures: 2.87″ diameter x 2″ height. In very good condition, with only minor abrasions to one small area.
