This is a late Victorian hand blown glass paperweight, commemorating the birth of a child, in 1861! After researching it, very few are still around, but the date is authentic. It reads: “William Lewis, Born August 8 1861 at Morriston”. I have been unable to track down the exact town or person/family involved. This is a true American art glass antique, 163 years old! Here’s your chance to own one. A very rare piece of art glass with a historical significance attached to it. If you collect 1800′s art glass or paper weights, snatch up this very scarce example! It measures 4 inches in diameter, 3 inches tall, and weighs a hefty 2lb 5.8oz. There is a mark on the bottom from being snapped off a glass blowing tube. This is not damage, this is how all these were made at the time. I often accept reasonable offers. Feel free to make me one. This item has absolutely NO chips, cracks, scratches, etc.. Except for the bottom mark where it was removed from the glass blowing tube. This is normal, not damage.
