The fish is blue on one side and striped blue, orange, yellow & white on the other side. The sea plants are turquoise in color and there are bubbles around the fish. The bottom is flat and unsigned. There was a paper label which has been removed. I have seen very few paperweights like this one and have been told that it is rare. The style is sometimes called “an aquarium” paperweight. Murano, an island off the coast of Italy, has a long tradition of making high quality and beautiful art glass. Many wonderful techniques in glass making were developed by Murano. The Murano paperweight is in beautiful condition and the glass is bright & clear. There are 3 tiny bruises in the glass probably from the paperweight knocking against another paperweight. There are surface scratches on the bottom. These do not detract from the beauty of the fish paperweight. Weight: 1.43 pounds. Diameter of flat base: 2.
