Vintage Glass Paperweight

VINTAGE LOTTON SIGNED ART GLASS GOLD, BLUE & PURPLE 1993 IRIDIZED PAPERWEIGHT. A beautiful piece of contemporary American hand-made studio art glass created at Lotton Art Glass. The base color of the glass is difficult to determine but may simply be crystal or clear colored glass. It is covered on the top portion with a gold color and into that color the artist has worked a series of leaf shapes that are blue and purple in color. The paperweight has a satin or slightly frosted finish to the glass with a light iridized or carnival glass coating. This piece has been in my personal collection since 1993. The paperweight is factory ground and polished on the underside so it sits flat and level. It is also signed on the underside Lotton, 1993. While the Lotton signature is partly illegible, I believe this piece was created by the glass artist John Lotton. As far as I can tell John Lotton is no longer working in hot glass. I find no website for him and he is not mentioned on the Lotton Glass family website. In my mind this is eventually going to cause the prices for pieces produced by him to increase in value. It is a fine example and gorgeous as you can see from the photos! I do my best to describe all items as accurately as possible and to the best of my ability. Some of my photos may be somewhat lighter or darker than actual to better show detail or color. It is in pristine mint original condition. Please look closely at the photos as they are an important part of my description of this item. There are no chips, flea bites, cracks, scratches, hairlines or repairs. Please keep in mind these photos can be blown up at least 8X-10X times normal, so anything you see will look 8X-10X times larger in the photos than it really is. Please note: if you see a dark spot in the photos it is from my camera and is not a mark on the piece. It will be either just to the right of center towards the bottom or slightly above center on the right side of the photo. About 3 (7.6 cm) in diameter and about 2 (5.1 cm) off the table. About 15 ounces (425 grams). On heavier items I will also offer a less expensive option, if available.
