Presenting an exceptional vintage Italian Murano glass paperweight produced by the renowned makers, Borovier and Toso. This magnificent hand crafted example features radiating internal threads of glistening aventurine copper floating atop a deep, rich solid opaque central core. The internal black core features distinct vertical lobes and the sparkling copper aventurine stripes perfectly follow the curves of the lobes, adding a magnificent sense of depth to solid glass form. The glistening copper foil stripes look truly exquisite set against the deep black central core, which creates the perfect backdrop for the sweeping curves of sparkling metallic colour. Randomly sized encapsulated air bubbles add a further jewel-like sparkle to the glass. The solid clear glass casing acts like a lens, spectacularly magnifying and distorting the the shapes and colours within to create striking optical effects. This fabulous Barovier and Toso Italian Murano art glass paperweight is presented in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. This stunning piece has been exceptionally well cared for and presents spectacularly. This exceptional example has been beautifully finished with a quality flat ground polished base. The quality and masterful craftsmanship is evident at first glance. This fine example retains its original red and gold foil “Murano Made in Italy” label to the base, wonderfully identifying it as a genuine vintage Italian Murano example!
