Murano – Clichy Replica – Sulphide Magnum Glass Paperweight Napoleon. This a Sulphide Magnum hand-made glass paperweight made in Italy and distributed by KB Brothers made in mid 20th century and distributed before 1977. This is a (not exact) replica of a Clichy Sulphide crystal glass paperweight of Napolean Bonaparte with an intentionally placed bubble above where a sulphide tiny star should be in Clichy paperweight. This lead glass paperweight measures approximately 3 7/8″ wide and 2 3/8″ high and a few ounces short of 2 pounds with a translucent cranberry red base and has 16 ray etched star on the bottom. The paperweight has no internal flaws that I can see. There is a bubble which I believe was intentionally placed after seeing the Clichy paperweight with sulphide star. There is a 1/2 scratch and very tiny bubble on top of paperweight which doesn’t interfere with beauty of paperweight. There is some minor wear which can be seen with magnification. This beautiful paperweight would be a great addition to your collection, especially if you do not have any sulphide paperweights.
