The ball can be used as a paperweight as the base is flat. The last photo is magnified, and shows the inside from the bottom of the paperweight. Looking down from the top, you can see how the bubbles increase in size.

A Paul Ysart patterned millefiori paperweight. Moncrieff post war period 1947-60. A three row concentric weights surrounded by aventiruine/latticini spokes interspersed with millefiori canes in three-one pattern. Some fine light scratches on the top of the dome.
