Vintage Glass Paperweight

Large Paul Ysart millefiori paperweight: 86 mm / 3 3/8 inch diameter. Description: Near magnum sized millefiori paperweight made by Paul Ysart in the 1930s. The canes and layout are typical of his pieces from this period. In this example the canes form a regular pattern around a large central star, and are are set on a translucent mottled blue ground which looks dark when placed on a solid surface. There are a couple of small bubbles in the clear glass, and a short thin streak of translucent cullet part way up the dome – see images. Slight dark tinge to clear glass. Concave base with typical’granular’ central scar and fine radiating lines. Size : diameter 3 3/8 inch / 86 mm; height 2 3/8 inch / 61 mm. C ondition : very good for a piece from the 1930s; no chips, bruises, or scratches other than some very minor surface marks that are hard to spot, and a few small marks on the base. Please remember this is not a brand new item – it is around 80 years old, and you may be able to find minuscule marks if you search using a magnifying glass. Postal services and charges.
