A Caithness 1986 “Nosegay” White, Purple and Blue Violets by Allan Scott from the Whitefriars Collection. A white, blue and purple violet share a network of thin stems, a companion bud and a few green leaves. There is a star-cut clear ground. This is edition #56 of a limited edition of 250 with only 151 made. There is a Monk signature cane and it’s signed to the edge of the actual base: “Nosegay Caithness Scotland 56/250″ and again, only 151 were actually made.

These items of glassware were handcrafted by Joe Hamon. Joe began working with hot glass at a very young age in his fathers factory in Oklahoma. He retired from glassblowing in December 2000, after more than 45 years of glasswork. He spent most of those years in Durango, Colorado, where he owned the Marigold Glassworks. His work included reproductions for the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Washington Cathedral.
