He served as a teaching assistant in the Glass Department at UCLA. Together with his brother, Steven Valentine Correia, he founded the Roger Correia Glass Studio in 1973. It was one of the first privately owned art glass studios to spearhead the Art Glass Movement in the early 1970s, creating a new American market for contemporary decorative arts. Roger Roland Correia withdrew from the partnership in 1975 and established his own independent Roland Art Glass studio in Ketchum, Idaho. He looked to the rural environment for his inspiration, working to emulate mountain hues and delicate lighting in his work. His work often shows a unique use of metal oxides to create a design on a mirror like surface.
