Welcome To The Antique Cabinet. Summa was a master of creating complex helix formations of colors and coils. Created from molten glass that he made himself, he would design from the inside out adding concentric layers of crystal, iridescent and colored glass. He would often cut and polish facets or windows, as seen in this example, where the interior forms are revealed and reflected at different angles. This piece is crafted in a bullet shaped egg form atop a pedestal base which is decorated with amazing iridescent glitter swirls. It measures a large 10 x 4 wide and is artist signed with the initials H. May 1989 along with the numbers 01-62. It is in excellent condition, free of any chips, cracks, nicks or repairs with minimal shelf wear on bottom which has been protected by bumper pads. A very unique example of Henry Summa Art Glass that really teases the imagination. – - – -. Murano Art Glass Fish Aquarium Glass Block Description and Item Information Up for sale is this fabulous, vintage Italian art glass fish aquarium glass block sculpture. Please excuse the glare in the photos. This piece contains a glass fish inclusion which is “swimming” among seaweed or kelp. There are bubble inclusions also. The block has a smooth, yet irregular, shape which implies the movement of water. This piece is approximately 5 1/2 inches tall, 5 1/16 inches long, and 2 9/16 inches wide. Unpacked, it weighs 4 pounds 8.6 ounces. This would be a fine addition to a collection of vintage Venetian art glass, or it would look superb in a retro, mid-century modern decor. Identification This vintage Salviati Italian art glass sculpture retains its original foil label beneath, as shown. Condition This piece looks great overall, with no cracks or chips. The piece has light wear overall. The flat base has some scratches, and the Salviati label is worn. Minor surface irregularities and asymmetries are as made.
