MUSEUM QUALITY Whimsy Glass Pedestal Paperweight. Likely made in Millville or Pittsburgh in the 1800s! You will likely not find a finer example of a 19. Century pedestal paperweight than this one! Showing barely, if any, wear in its over 150 years of existence, this lovely handblown art piece is a perfect cornerstone of any early American art glass collection! Featuring a fantastic, mottled fuchsia and white swirl pattern with a symmetrical, four-point reverse teardrop design, this visually stunning piece will bring a dash of spring and whimsy to any sunny area! This Victorian-era glass paperweight was likely made in either Millville, NJ, or Pittsburgh, PA during the mid-to-late 1800s. The piece is unsigned but bears a fire polished pontil scar on top. The ball is attached to the pedestal base and all pieces are original without apparent modification! This piece is in NEAR MINT condition! There are very few, if any, signs of use or wear and the piece is free from major flaw, damage, and repair! A museum-ready and appealing piece of historic early American art glass! Height: 7 ¼ in.
