This paperweight orb was designed by Donald Pollard in 1980 and depicts an imaginary galaxy made of shining bubbles of varying sizes and of “stardust” suspended in a solid crystal orb. The orb paperweight measures 3 1/2 diameter. This beautiful Orb paperweight is in Excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dings or mars and beautiful clear crystal and design. STEUBEN CRYSTAL “EXCALIBUR” PAPERWEIGHT AND STERLING SILVER & 18K SWORD, LETTER OPENER + ORIGINAL PRESENTATION BOX. Excellent condition – Crystal has no chips, cracks, or scratches (see pictures for more details). Is definitely one of the most recognized iconic pieces ever created. A magnificient piece of art that speaks for itself! In the Arthurian legend only a true king can withdraw the sword from the stone. In James Houston’s contemporary interpretation of the myth, the sword in stone (crystal) paperweight is a rare piece to come by in excellent condition with its original presentation box. The Excalibur would be incomplete without its presenation box. This very heavy and well made piece that has a sculpted rock base made entirely out of crystal, which bears the Steuben signature on the underside. The heavy silver sterling Excalibur Sword letter opener is accented with 18k gold braiding wrapping around the sword’s handle. The underside of the hilt has the appropriate hallmarks for silver and gold (see pictures for more details). Some wear to box. This piece is for the serious Steuben Collectors, or for the most discerning person to shop for! You cannot go wrong with this piece! Don’t let this one get away!
