Description: Very nice example of a large 1930s Paul Ysart harlequin design paperweight, with colourful cane fragments, twists, mica flakes and aventurine set on an orange ground. Slight dark tinge to the clear glass, is as common in these early pieces. Typical fire polished concave base with’sugary’ pontil scar’. Size : diameter 3 3/16 inch / 81 mm; height 2 3/4 inch / 71 mm. Condition : very good; no chips, bruises, or scratches other than a little shelf wear on the base rim and a small scar from manufacture on the base.
