Paul Schulze & Alice Koeth design 1992. Star of David crystal sculpture. Is perfect for the a special birthday, the Bar or Bat Mitzvah or for your favorite collector. This made in USA, of original 10M formula Steuben Glass design is formed from a block of the purest crystal and engraved with the six sided star, a symbol of David’s shield against Goliath–a beautiful desk ornament! This design is a rare find, new in box with no chips, no cracks, no scuffs, no “flea” bites, no scratches. 3 inches wide by 3 inches tall. This is a heavy authentic prismatic design that is faceted with numerous cuts and polished surfaces and is signed correctly on the bottom edge. It will come wrapped in its fine original Steuben flannel bag and fine original Steuben box with a Steuben care folder. Steuben was noted for their rigorous attention to detail and for the high quality of their glass. They stated in their literature that they did not market “seconds”. In fact, they noted that such pieces were destroyed in house. Steuben Glass was founded by Frederick Carder in 1903 and was located in the Fingerlakes Region of New York State. By following strict standards for design and manufacture they achieved recognition as the world’s premier glassworks. Steuben Glass was frequently the gift of state by US Presidents to foreign dignitaries. Steuben, a recognized luxury brand. Because of these factors, a well maintained/handmade Steuben collectible will increase in value over time. This is the original early made in USA design. For your consideration, please see this stunning Steuben Crystal Eagle, designed by Donald Pollard (Sculpture #8304) in 1975. This is truly a beautiful eagle in very good, pre-owned conditon. Full Disclosure: There are two very minor chips on the base at the corners (I have attempted to show this in the photos, please see images). They are incredibly small. And because of the way the eagle is designed, they are not noticible unless you are looking for them. Hand signature has been etched “Steuben” on the base of the piece. The eagle is 4 3/4” Tall, 3 3/4” Wide, 6 Long, and is very heavy, weighing 2 Pounds and 14.5 Ounces on its own, without any packing materials. Signed Steuben Eric Hilton design. Consider this rare stunning signed. US CAPITOL DOME Crystal Sculpture/desk objét. A polished prismatic form is cut with a detailed three dimensional relief of the revered neo-classical US Capitol Dome. A treasured reminder of what is important and unique about the American experiment. From every angle the Capitol image is multiplied and light radiates throughout. A beautiful gift for the collector! The US Capitol, a National Historic Landmark–the seat of the US Congress, was completed in 1800. The “wedding cake” dome was added in the mid 1850′s to replace a smaller dome that was no longer in proportion as the building had been enlarged. This current dome is 100′ in diameter and almost 9 million pounds of cast iron. Hilton also designed most of Steuben’s rare copper wheel hand engraved jewelry designs in the late 1970′s. See the “Geometric Pendant” I have listed also. His works are in museum collections around the world Metropolitan Museum of Art, Musee des Arts Décoratif Paris, Hokkaido Museum Japan etal.
